Explore Bretagne

If you have some extra time in Brittany, here are some wonderful places to explore:

Pont-Aven

— 20 min drive from Manoir du Stang

A charming village famous for its artistic heritage, Pont-Aven was a favorite retreat for painters like Paul Gauguin. Stroll along the river, admire the many galleries, and enjoy the peaceful atmosphere. Don’t miss the local specialty, galettes de Pont-Aven – delicious buttery biscuits!

Concarneau

— 15 min drive from Manoir du Stang

A picturesque coastal town known for the Ville Close, a historic fortified island in the middle of the harbor. Inside, you’ll find quaint boutiques, crêperies, and stunning sea views. Concarneau is also a great place to enjoy fresh seafood, especially in the bustling fishing port. If you love beaches, the nearby coastline has some beautiful sandy stretches.

Vannes

— 1hr drive from Manoir du Stang

This medieval port city is full of history and charm, with its well-preserved half-timbered houses and ancient ramparts. Take a walk through the old town, visit the Saint-Pierre Cathedral, and explore the lively harbor area. If you love markets, Vannes has some of the best in the region, offering fresh seafood and Breton delicacies.

Saint-Malo

— 2hr45 drive from Manoir du Stang

Once a haven for privateers (official pirates!), this walled city on the northern coast of Brittany is breathtaking. Walk along the ramparts for stunning sea views, explore the cobbled streets, and relax on the sandy beaches. A boat trip to the nearby island of Grand Bé, where writer Chateaubriand is buried, is well worth it.

Mont Saint-Michel

— 2hr50 drive from Manoir du Stang

One of France’s most iconic landmarks, this tidal island seems almost magical as it rises from the sea. The medieval abbey at the top offers spectacular views, and the narrow streets leading up to it are filled with charming shops and cafés. Be sure to check the tide schedule, as the experience is completely different at high and low tide!
